Ireland team named for FEI Jumping Nations Cup final

The Underwriting Exchange Irish Show Jumping squad has been named for the FEI Jumping Nations Cup final in Barcelona.

Horse Sport Ireland Show Jumping High Performance Director, Michael Blake, has named a strong squad with which to cap off an excellent season, with hopes high of another strong performance.

The Underwriting Exchange Irish Show Jumping Team competing in Barcelona is as follows:

• Trevor Breen with Highland President, owned by Heather Black.
• Daniel Coyle with Gisborne VDL, owned by Ariel Grange.
• Denis Lynch with Vistogrand, owned by Parco Sport Horses EST.
• Jack Ryan with BBS McGregor (ISH), owned by Marguerite Ryan.
• Max Wachman with Kilkenny (ISH), owned by Sue Magnier.

“Denis Lynch and Jack Ryan were both on the winning team in Rome earlier in the year, while Denis was also a team member of the successful Spruce Meadows winning team just two weeks ago. Jack helped Ireland to a second place in Hickstead, jumping a double clear,” said Blake.

“Daniel Coyle has been showing some excellent form. He was on the winning team in Spruce Meadows and in Vancouver. He also contributed to Ireland’s second place finishes in both Hickstead and Rotterdam.

“Max Wachman was a member of the gold medal-winning European Young Rider (under-21) team in Gorla Minore earlier this summer and helped Ireland’s senior team to a podium finish in Wellington, Florida back in February.

“Trevor Breen was a member of the Senior European Championship silver medal-winning team at the European Championship in Milan recently on Highland President.”
