Splaine names team for Spanish Nations’ Cup

IRELAND’S show jumping team manager Robert Splaine this afternoon (Friday) announced his team to compete in Saturday’s Nations’ Cup at Gijon in Spain.
The Irish quartet has been drawn seventh of ten teams who will compete in the trophy competition at the five-star venue on the northern Iberian coast, with jumping due to start at 1.45pm Irish time.
Ireland will line out as:
Capt. Michael Kelly/Annestown (ISH)
Bertram Allen/Romanov
Denis Lynch/All Inclusive
Shane Breen/Zarnita.
Gijon is not part of the Superleague, which sees its final take place in Barcelona next month, with Ireland as one of the top ten qualifying teams.
