Young Rider High Performance Manager Sally Corscadden said,

“I am very happy with the squad chosen for Young Rider Europeans this year. We have had a difficult season already, with the loss of Ian Cassells’ horse and injuries to Shane Power and Angela Dennehy’s horses. However, we have strength and depth in numbers and a mixture of experienced and new combinations. There is a great team spirit and all are working hard with the management team of Will Lalor, Heike Holstein and Ian Fearon to bring back another team medal for Ireland,” she said.

Junior High Performance Manger Debbie Byrne said,

“I’m looking forward to the challenges of this year’s Europeans. We have potentially an extremely strong squad travelling, who have shown great commitment throughout the year both in competition and training. The standard of competition within our junior ranks is extremely high which bodes well. The league table which allocates 3 of the final 6 squad places builds up nicely to its climax at Camphire, and gives the junior athletes the experience of added pressure at competition. Parents, owners and personal trainers show huge commitment with their time and resources to make this all possible, and for that I am extremely grateful,” she said.
