The HPA hosted the qualifiers for the 2015 World Championships at The Beaufort Polo Club  last weekend. England, Spain, France and Ireland competed for a qualifying position at the World Championships. The Irish Team won Silver medals at the qualifiers, this is the second Silver medal for Ireland. Earlier this month Ireland claimed silver at the World Equestrian Games FIP at 8 goal level.

Irelands first match at the European Qualifiers was against England followed by Spain and then France. Although Ireland won two out three matches beating Spain and France the team of  Seb Dawnay, Mike Henderson, Max Hutchinson and Niall Donnelly narrowly missed out on qualification as Ireland and England ended the tournament on equal points but England qualified due to goal difference.

Chairman of the Federation of Irish Polo Clubs Mr. James Kennedy said: “The full entourage of the HPA were there for this nail biting game and decider in who plays in the World Championships in Chile. It is a truly heroic performance for a team that does not normally play together, to take on and beat the best teams in Europe in getting to this final.”
