  • 15 December 2014, 11:39

Horse Sport Ireland is reminding breeders and owners to register their foals before 31st December 2014. By law each foal must be registered within six months of its birth or before 31st December that year, whichever occurs later. Equines that are not registered before 31st December of their year of birth or within six months following the date of birth, whatever occurs later, must be stamped as ‘not intended for slaughter for human consumption’ on their identification document in accordance with S.I. 357 of 2011.

Breeders and owners should note that all applications must to fully complete in order to be processed before 31st December. Please ensure that your applications are returned with the correct fee, that they are signed by the owner and also signed and stamped by your veterinary surgeon. Please also allow for possible postal delays over the Christmas period.

If you have note received your foal kit, please ensure the relevant covering cert has been received by Horse Sport Ireland. You can check this using the online checker on the HSI website – http://www.horsesportireland.ie/passports/covering-certificate-check/

Please note that the HSI offices will be closed on 24th, 25th & 26th December and 1st & 2nd January. Wishing you a very happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year from Horse Sport Ireland.
