Seventh heaven for Bertram Allen as he adds another car to collection after Stockholm win

Wexford’s Bertram Allen and the brilliant grey mare Molly Malone stormed to victory at Stockholm in Sweden on Saturday night, with the 21-year-old adding a staggering seventh car to his collection.

Allen collected a brand new Volkswagen Tiguan after his victory in the 1m50 Volkswagen Cup, producing the fastest clear round in 58.37 seconds when second last to go in the one-round speed contest.

The young Wexford rider finished eight hundredths of a second ahead of Belgium’s Nicola Philippaerts with Ustina Sitte, while home favourite Malin Baryard-Johnsson (SWE) took third place on the podium with H&M Cue Channa.

Allen incredibly won three cars at the same Swedish fixture in 2015 and with two days of competition still remaining he could yet add to his bulging garage, which includes Mitsubishi, Volkswagen and several Mercedes.
