2018 ISH Studbook Young Horse Eventing Series Announced

Horse Sport Ireland and Eventing Ireland is delighted to announce the 2018 ISH Studbook Young Horse Series at the following venues:

As in previous years, the four year old series will consist of four legs with scores from all legs to count in the league. The five and six year old series will consist of six legs with all legs to count in the league.  In addition, the 5 & 6 year old pony class will be a one-off class at the National Championships.

The aim of the ISH Young Horse League, is to further assist in the progressive production of young event horses and ponies within the country. We wish all the producers and riders the best of luck through the series this year.‘

Eligibility Criteria

  • Horses that are registered in the Irish Horse Register with the breed codes “ISH” and with sire and dam documented on their passport, are eligible to compete in this series.
  • Ponies must be registered with a DAFM approved studbook in order to compete.

  • All horses must be fully paid up and registered with Eventing Ireland with a naming page of the passport sent to Head Office prior to the entry being made
  • If the horse does not meet the eligibility requirements, they will be moved to the equivalent class, or can be refunded if required.
  • Riders may compete on a day ticket at EI90 and EI100 only.  Riders must be fully paid up members of Eventing Ireland to compete at CNC1* class.
  • All Riders must be paid up members to compete in the National Championships
  • Adults may ride ponies in the 5&6yo Pony Class (as per EI Rules)
  • All 5yo and 6yo horses must have completed at least two legs of the series to compete in Final
  • All 4yo horses must have completed at least one leg of the series to compete in the Final
  • The 5&6yo Pony Class will take place at the National Championships
  • Entry Fees will be as per Eventing Ireland website

Prize/Bonus Money

  • Eventing Ireland Prize money will be paid by the venues as per the Eventing Ireland Rule 7.2. with the additional ISH bonus prize money (as per the Prize Schedule) being paid on the day
  • Prize winners will be required to attend the official prize giving at the event, in particular the final league presentations by HSI and Eventing Ireland being held at the National Championships.

ISH Studbook Final

  • Final leg to be held at Eventing Ireland National Championships in Kilguilkey House 8-9 September 2018
  • The Overall League Winners are to be present and mounted for the official prize giving and photographs
  • Breeders must attend the final leg at the National Championships
  • All prize money from the National Championships will be sent to the winners following the event
