The 2019 Stena Line Dublin Horse Show gets underway today (Wednesday) at the RDS in Ballsbridge, with five days of top class equestrian action featuring many of the world’s top horses and riders.

Highlights in the main arena on the opening day include the Speed Stakes, Minerva Stakes and the Sport Ireland Classic, while three more international competitions are up for grabs on Thursday.

Once again this year, several Young Horse competitions at the Dublin Horse Show are sponsored by Horse Sport Ireland, with new Show Jumping champions set to be crowned in four, five and six-year-old age categories. The four-year-old Young Event Horse competition and three-year-old loose Show Jumping performance class at the RDS are also sponsored by Horse Sport Ireland.

The Irish team, sponsored by Devenish and The Underwriting Exchange has been named for Friday’s Longines FEI Nations Cup for the Aga Khan trophy, with team manager Rodrigo Pessoa selecting Cian O’Connor, Shane Sweetnam, Paul O’Shea and Darragh Kenny.

Saturday’s action at the RDS will include the ever popular Land Rover Puissance over the big red wall, while the Longines Grand Prix of Ireland will bring the Dublin Horse Show to a close on Sunday.
