Double win for Sharkey in Cavan ISH SJ Series finals

EMS Adelaide (ISH) by Mermus R out of Sante Cruise by Loch Cruise bred by Willie McElhinney, Owned by Daisy Duggan and ridden by Sean Monaghan jumped double clear in a time of 43.49 seconds to win the 7-Year-Old Final of the Irish Sport Horse Studbook Show jumping Series at Cavan Equestrian. Sean had the fastest double clear in the 7-year-old class, he beat off stiff competition from the 8 combinations who made it through to the final. In the 5-Year-old final Cora Sharkey jumped the quickest double clear to win, riding AHG Whiterock Duggie (ISH) by ARD VDL Douglas out of Raheenwood Cruise by Raheenwood Ginger bred by Ann Gannon Clancy owned by Joseph M Sharkey. While in the 6-Year- Old, Cora Sharkey struck again winning the class on Lisboy Emerald (ISH) by Emerald Vant Ruytershof out of Hollypark Lux Alright by Lux Z, bred by Michael Mc Donagh, owned by Joseph M Sharkey. Cora had a superb round finishing in a time of 33.95. There was €16,500 on offer in Cavan Equestrian from the Irish Sport Horse Studbook for these young horse classes.
The 5-year-old Irish Sport Horse Studbook series league champion was MHS Sunday Girl (ISH) by Cornet Obolensky out of Lady Ligustra by Cavalier Royale. Bred by Ita Brennan owned by Michael and John Brennan and ridden by Gemma Phelan. They accumulated a total of 32 points. The owners were present to witness the win.
This year the overall 6-year-old Irish Sport Horse Studbook Series champion was Coachella (ISH) by Ustinov out of Icing by Cruising (ISH)(TIH) bred by Tom & Linda Magee owned by Catherine Thornton and David Campbell, and ridden by Catherine Thornton. They finished on a total of 30 league points, having returned very consistent performances. This combination won the league having beat off stiff competition from Cora Sharkey and Lisboy Mermus (ISH).
The 7 Year old ISH Studbook show jumping series league champion was EMS Adelaide (ISH) by Mermus R out of Sante Cruise by Loch Cruise. Bred by Willie McElhinney owned by Daisy Duggan and ridden by Sean Monaghan. Sean and EMS Adelaide (ISH) having been standing in second place throughout the league clenched the champion title in Cavan today finishing on 29 points.
