HORSE Sport Ireland has confirmed the GAIN Horse Feeds Young Rider Eventing Squad for the 2015 European Championships in Strzegom, Poland 27th – 30th August 2015

The GAIN Horse feeds Young Rider Eventing Squad in alphabetical order is:

• Susie Berry and Carsontown Athena (ISH)
• Cathal Daniels and Rioghan Rua (ISH)
• Kelley Hutchinson and Ballyduff A-Z (ISH)
• Tony Kennedy and Wisteria Lane (ISH)
• Harold Megahey and Chuckelberry

One more rider will be added after Camphire CIC2*, which takes place this weekend.

High Performance Young Rider Eventing Team Manager Sally Corscadden said: “It’s an exciting time to be manager of the Young Rider squad. I am in the very fortunate position of having riders available for the team who are already Gold Medal winners.

“Even though we have lost two of our team members from last year’s Gold Medal winning team through injury, we are able to replace them with two Junior team gold medallists who moved up into Young Riders – Cathal Daniels and Susie Berry. They will be joining 2014 squad members Harold Megahey and Tony Kennedy, and new squad member Kelley Hutchinson. The sixth rider and the reserves will be named after Camphire International this week.

“Our training and preparations are going well, the riders have been working with our dressage coach Heike Holstein, and our new show jumping coach, senior International rider Mark Kyle. With such depth of experience in both the management team and the riders, we feel very confident that we can compete for championship medals once again.”
