- 14 October 2014, 13:00
Nominations will close tomorrow for the prestigious Horse Sport Ireland (HSI) Coach of the Year Award. The Coach of the Year award is designed to honour and acknowledge the contribution of coaches and will be awarded to one nominated coach who has made an outstanding difference to the performance of a particular competitor throughout the competition year. 2014 has been a fantastic year for Irish equestrian sport and as a result we would like some input from you, the competitor.
We are asking all competitors to nominate one coach who has made a significant difference to you and your horse throughout the year. The nominations will be put forward to a committee which will decide the overall winner. Please forward your nomination for your Coach of the Year with a short paragraph on why this coach has made such a difference. All nominations will be treated with the strictest of confidence.
The nominated coach must:
- Hold an HSI Coaching qualification or equivalent
- Consistently demonstrate high standards of coaching
- Perform well on days of competition
- Maintain good relationships with riders, owners, stewards and HSI / FEI officials
- Demonstrate an interest in the coach education process
- Demonstrate their commitment to ongoing improvement as a coach
All nominations should be submitted in writing to Catherine Farrell, HSI Coaching Coordinator before close of business on Wednesday 15th October 2014. Any nominations received after this time will not be put forward.
