Horse Sport Ireland high performance Para equestrian selection committee will nominate an athlete to represent Ireland at the Paralympic Games based on published selection criteria. Athletes will be considered for selection based on their performances at designated competitions during 2016.

“With our eventing team and individual places in Show Jumping and Dressage we will have at least 6 riders at the Olympics and 1 rider at the Paralympics. The 2016 Olympics and Paralympics will be something for equestrian enthusiasts to look forward to” he said.
Speaking about the news, Chef de Mission for Paralympics Ireland for Rio 2016, Denis Toomey stated: “We are delighted that a slot has been secured for Ireland in equestrian at this year’s Games in Rio.
