Ireland’s impressive run of results continued last night (Sunday) at Spruce Meadows five-star fixture in Canada, with Irish riders filling three of the top seven places in the $385,000 ‘Continental’ Grand Prix.
Derry’s Jordan Coyle was the top Irish performer when taking fourth place overall with Eristov, a nine-year-old gelding owned by Elan Farm. They were among seven combinations who made it into the jump-off where they completed a double clear performance crossing the line in 45.96. Fellow Irish rider Capt Brian Cournane was close behind in fifth with Dino. They also left all the poles standing in 47.31. Kilkenny’s Richie Moloney slotted into seventh place with Freestyle De Muze with two fences down in 48.75.
