Kevin Gallagher and Ballypatrick Flamenco (ISH) crowned Irish National Show Jumping Champions for 2021

The titanic battle to see who would be crowned Irish National Show Jumping Champions for 2021 has been won by Kevin Gallagher and The Irish Sport Horse Ballypatrick Flamenco.
Level on points with Clem McMahon and Hilton Pacato (ISH) heading into today’s final round of the Horse Sport Ireland Premier Series at Barnadown in Co Wexford, Gallagher and the 11-year-old gelding finished seventh overall to claim the prestigious title, while McMahon finished outside the top 10 after picking up four faults in the first round.
Victory in the final leg of the series went to Jason Foley and MHS Jersey Girl, while Junior rider Niamh McEvoy took runner-up spot with Templepatrick Welcome Limmerick. Susan Fitzpatrick and Verdict De Kezeg finished third, with Francis Connors and CSF James Kann Cruz in fourth. Two more Young Riders completed the top six with Cian Harrison and Tabby in fifth and Francis Derwin sixth with Deep Pockets.
There was further success for Kevin Gallagher when he won the prestigious Irish Breeders Classic final with the 6-year-old CBS Khantastic – an Irish Sport Horse gelding by Elvis Ter Puttle (BWP) out of Mrs Quinn (ISH)[TIH] by Laughton’s Flight (ISH)[TIH] bred by Caladonia Stables, and owned by Gary Hazelwood.
