Reminder to all equine keepers to submit Equine Census 2022 forms

  • 5 December 2022, 15:36

Horse Sport Ireland would like to remind all equine keepers to submit their completed Equine Census 2022 forms to the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM) before the December 16th deadline.

Forms should have been completed by all those keeping horses, ponies, donkeys, mules and zebras on the census night of November 30th and it is important for keepers to ensure that forms are submitted ahead of the closing date.

Paper returns will be accepted for Census 2022, but the Department strongly encourages keepers to submit their 2022 census data online through the dedicated ‘Equine Census 2022’ portal on www.agfood.ie using their dedicated username and password. DAFM have created an instructional video to support online uploads. If keepers do not already have a username and password they can register simply on the agfood.ie website.

Keepers with large numbers of equines, even where these are kept across a number of different premises, can chose a bulk upload option (submission of a spreadsheet) on agfood.ie. Such keepers should refer to the FAQ document.

Keepers choosing to submit a paper return should complete the enclosed census form, attaching an additional page(s) to record details of all the equines permanently resident on the holding. These should be posted to:
Equine ID Section, AIM Division, Backweston Admin Building, Stacumny Lane, Celbridge, Co Kildare, W23 X3PH.

If any keepers have any difficulties completing their return, they can contact AIM Division for assistance by contacting the DAFM via email equinecensus2022@agriculture.gov.ie or by phone at 01- 5058881.
