Second win in-a-row for HHS Fortune (ISH) and Michael Pender in Irish Sport Horse Studbook Series at Coilog Equestrian Centre

HHS Fortune (ISH) ridden by Michael Pender, made it two wins in-a-row by taking the 7-year-old final of the Irish Sport Horse Studbook Show Jumping Series at Coilog Equestrian Centre on Sunday, having won the previous leg in Mullingar. HHS Fortune is by Catoki (HOLST) out of HHS Daisy (ISH) and is bred and owned by Marion Hughes.

One of 14 clears in the first round, Pender set a blistering pace to stop the clock at 30.79 seconds, which proved to be unbeatable.

In the 5-year-old final, nine combinations jumped double clear to split the prize money. As this was the fifth leg of the ISH studbook series, the 6-year-olds jumped off against the clock for the first time this season. With some very fast combinations to come behind her, Catherine Thornton and Drumiller Sensation (ISH), asked for a very tight turn inside to the Irish Sport Horse fence, to cross the line almost 1.5 seconds faster than second-placed Kevin Gallagher with HHS Fast Forward.

There was €9,500 on offer in Coilog from the Irish Sport Horse Studbook for these young horse classes. The next leg takes place in Cork Showgrounds on July 7th and 8th.
