Showjumping: Castlefield Eclipse helps Swiss win Lummen CSIO5* Nations Cup

Paul Estermann (SUI) & Castlefield Eclipse (ISH)

Lummen CSIO5* Nations Cup saw Paul Estermann (SUI) and Castlefield Eclipse (ISH) produce a double clear round to help Team Switzerland claim victory in the Belgian event. The 1.45m speed class was won by the on-form pair of Thomas Ryan (IRL) and the Irish Sport Horse Cruise On Clover.

To France where the youthful combination of Ireland’s Michael Duffy and the Irish Sport Horse ESI Hanoi took the win in the 7 Year Old Assurances Perigny Hotton 1m30 Two Phase. Also at the Maubeuge CSI3* Mayo’s Michael G Duffy finished 4th in the €40,000 Grand Prix riding the Irish-bred Murchu.

The Irish Sport Horse industry received a further boost when British Showjumping announced their squad of five to travel to next weeks CSIO3* Nations Cup in Odense, Denmark. Four of the five riders line out on their Irish Sport Horse mounts – Jessie Drea (Touchable), Holly Gilliot (Dougie Douglas), Harriet Nuttall (A Touch Imperious) and Tim Page (Santa Cruise II).  See more:
