SHOW jumping team manager Robert Splaine has today (Monday) announced the squad that will represent Ireland at La Baule in France, and from which he will select the four-strong team for the important Furusiyya Nations’ Cup on Friday.
La Baule is the second of Ireland’s point-scoring competitions in the top league of world show jumping and will be followed by St. Gallen, Switzerland in June and the Aga Khan Cup at Dublin Horse Show in August. The first Nations’ Cup in the series for Ireland was Lummen in Belgium earlier this month.
Ireland’s five-man squad at La Baule will be:
Bertram Allen with Molly Malone
Shane Breen with Goldenhawk
Greg Broderick with MHS Going Global (ISH)
Darragh Kenny with Sans Soucis Z
Cian O’Connor with Good Luck
Splaine said this morning: “We had a disappointing start to the series at Lummen, but for La Baule this is a squad that on paper looks strong.”
