Shane Sweetnam and the Irish Sport Horse James Kann Cruz were an excellent second in the $414,300 Major League Show Jumping CSI5* Grand Prix in Vancouver overnight.
It was another superb class for the Irish, with Daniel Coyle finishing sixth on Nations Cup mount Legacy, with Jordan Coyle just one place behind riding Ariso.
Local hero Tiffany Foster, riding Northern Light, was victorious in the competitive heat, the combination being the only one of four in the jump-off to go clear.
Corkman Sweetnam and ten-year-old James Kann Cruz, owned by Gizmo Partners and bred by Patrick Connolly, were quickest in the second round, but an unfortunate four faults meant that Foster took top spot on the podium, to the delight of the home crowd.
BREEDING:
James Kann Cruz (ISH) – 2013 gelding by Kannan out of CSF Telly Cruz by Cruising, bred by Patrick Connolly owned by Gizmo partners LLC. Ridden by Shane Sweetnam.
