Tong second in Le Mans Grand Prix Special

IRELAND’s Roland Tong took second place in the afternoon’s (Saturday) Grand Prix Special at the CDI three-star show in Le Mans, France, with ten-year old gelding Ambience.
 
The current Irish National Champion, Tong achieved a score of 67.980% and was outperformed only by Great Britain’s Lara Griffith who scored 73.667 with Rubin Al Asad. 
 
Tong won the Irish National Championship for the second time with Ambience in September at Cavan Equestrian Centre. He is co-owner of the horse with Sandra Kirkpatrick.
 
The pairing made their debut at today’s level at Hartpury, Great Britain, in July.
