Top eight finish for Ireland’s Anna Merveldt in Austrian World Cup Grand Prix

Irish Dressage rider Anna Merveldt has finished in equal eighth place in today’s (Saturday) FEI World Cup Grand Prix at Salzburg in Austria. Riding the 10-year-old gelding Esporim, Merveldt scored 68.326% to match the score of Germany’s Helen Langehanenberg and Annabelle in a competition that attracted 15 competitors.
German superstar Isabell Werth took victory with Emilio on a score of 78.957% while Benjamin Werndl (GER) took runner-up spot with Daily Mirror on 77.717% ahead of French third place finisher Morgan Barbancon and Sir Donnerhall II on a score of 72.304%.
Today’s result comes on the back of two top five finishes for Anna Merveldt and Esporim at the four-star show German show in Munich a fortnight ago.
