HSI Dressage Autumn Development Series Final Greenogue

The Horse Sport Ireland (HSI) Dressage Development Series Final was held in Greenogue Equestrian Centre last weekend on the 12th of December. A total of 13 classes took place ranging from Preliminary to Prix St. George, including age classes for 4, 5 and 6-year-old horses.
The 4-year-old class was closely contested by a total of 6 entrants. The eventual winner of the class was Niamh Tottenham riding Slieve Callan Gael (ISH) with a score of 70.41%. Close behind was Nicki Russell riding Callowfeenish Silver (CP) with 68.33%, and third was claimed by Lindsay Newitt riding Ballinglen Dreamer on 65.73%.
The 5-year-old class was contested by 4 Irish Sport Horses with John Gavin riding Holywell Spark (ISH) taking first place on a score of 67.13%, followed by Amelia McFarland riding Kingston Rua (ISH) with 61.29% in second place. Third place went to Pretty Unique (ISH) ridden by Marguerite Kavanagh on a score of 58.51%.
The 6-year-old class was hotly contested class with very little difference between the final scores. The eventual winner was the ever-consistent Jennifer Rea and Fermoyle Charles (ISH) on a score of 67.03%, this pair have taken multiple wins in this section throughout the entire HSI Dressage Development Series. Second place went to Niamh Tottenham riding the traditionally bred Fortmoy Queen Bee (ISH)[TIH] on a score of 65.78%. Third place was taken by Gavin Smiddy riding DSH Showtime (ISH) on a score of 64.14%.
The Grand Prix was won by Sarah Mellor riding Let’s Dance on a finishing score of 65.71%. The Prix St. George was won by Laragh O’Grady riding the Irish Sport Horse Mullentine Emerald Wolfe Tone (ISH) on a finishing score of 68.82%.
4-Year-Olds
1st: Slieve Callan Gael (ISH)- 2017 by Tyson (KWPN) out of Gi Miz Minx (ISH) by Courage II (HOLST) bred and ridden by Niamh Tottenham.
2nd: Callowfeenish Silver (CP)- 2017 Nicki Russell.
3rd: Ballinglen Dreamer (ISH)- 2017 gelding by Financial Reward (TB) out of Ballinglen Dream (AES) by Clovers Return (ISH) bred by Donal Goland, ridden by Lindsay Newitt.
5-Year-Olds
1st: Holywell Spark (ISH)- 2016 gelding by Cobra (HOLST) out of Oneforthenotebook (ISH) by Contador (HOLST) bred by Jacinta O’Donoghue, ridden by John Gavin.
2nd: Kingston Rua (ISH)- 2016 gelding by Furstenball (OLD) out of Tullibards Shakira (ISH) by Clintino (BAV) bred by Anthony McFarland, ridden by Amelia McFarland.
Pretty Unique (ISH)- 2016 gelding by Celtic Hero B Z (ZANG) out of What a Feeling B (ISH) by Wandango (KWPN) bred by Leo Monaghan, ridden by Marguerite Kavanagh.
6-Year-Old
1st: Fermoyle Charles (ISH) -2015 gelding by S Creevagh Ferro Ex Siebe (KWPN) out of Fermoyle Jane (ISH) by Captain Clover (ISH) bred by Henry Gardiner, ridden by Jennifer Rea.
2nd: Fortmoy Queen Bee (ISH)(TIH) – 2015 mare by Watermill Swatch (TB) out of Fortmoy Shinawill (ISH)(TIH) by Gurraun Zidane (ID) bred by Marie Deasy, ridden by Niamh Tottenham.
3rd: DSH Showtime (ISH) – 2015 gelding by OBOS Quality 004 (OLD) out of Caherline Kitty (ISH) by Master Imp (TB) bred by Joseph Henry O’Reilly, ridden by Gavin Smiddy.
Grand Prix
1st: Let’s Dance ridden by Sarah Mellor.
2nd: Beezies Big Brother (ID) – 2005 by It’s the Quiet Man (ID) out of Princess of Woodlands (ID) by Pride of Toames (ID) bred and ridden by Simone Hession.
Prix St. George
1st: Mullentine Emerald Wolfe Tone (ISH) -2011 gelding by Jaguar Mail (SF) out of Mullentine Easy Jet (ISH) by Cruising (ISH) bred by Heather Allen, ridden by Laragh O’Grady.
2nd: Fidette ridden by Marguerite Kavanagh.
3rd: Hotshot ridden by Sarah Mellor.
