Dunphy names combinations ahead of Junior and Children on Horses European Championships

Anne Marie Dunphy names athletes to represent Ireland at the upcoming FEI European Dressage Championships

Horse Sport Ireland (HSI) Youth Dressage High Performance Manager Anne Marie Dunphy has named the athletes and horses selected to represent Ireland at the upcoming FEI Junior and Children on Horses European Dressage Championships.

Both the Junior European Championship and the Children on Horses European Championship will take place in Kronberg, Germany from the 18th – 23rd of July. This is the first time there has been a Junior (under 18) team selected to represent Ireland at the Championship.

Listed alphabetically, the athletes and horses selected are as follow.

Junior European Championship:

Cillian Curran – Dancing Espri

Sophia Doheny – Batiqar

Jessica Grogan – Christianson

 

Children on Horses European Championship:

Maeve Deverell – Annaharvey Dunowen (ISH)

 

Speaking about the announcement Dunphy said: “I am delighted to announce the athletes selected for the forthcoming Junior and Children European Championships in Kronberg.

β€œOur first Junior team for the European Championships is a milestone for the HSI Youth Dressage Programme. All athletes have shown strong performances throughout the selection period, Cillian and Jessica have previous championship experience at pony level, while Sophia will be making her debut on a team. Maeve, our Children on Horses individual athlete is also making her championship debut.
